Woodward’s Dalton Baggs – FFA Spotlight Presented By Farm Credit Western OK
- Updated: March 21, 2020
The Woodward FFA Spotlight shines on Dalton Baggs, a senior football player for the Boomers. Baggs was the starting center and helped lead Woodward to the first round of the playoffs. As a senior he anchored and led the offensive line for the Boomers. “I was the leader of the offensive line;” said Baggs, “we had a few young guys that looked at me as the leader. I just tried to set the right example and lead with action, whenever we were losing, I tried to pick the morale back up.”
Baggs senior season also produced some special memories that he’ll always carry with him. “I’ll always remember senior night and homecoming night was special and getting named homecoming king was a lot of fun,” said Baggs.
Dalton is heavily involved in the FFA program at Woodward and is currently the chapter President. Some of his duties include representing the chapter in the community, leading meetings and organizing events.
Baggs is also a key member of the shooting sports teams at Woodward. He helped lead the team to a State Championship this season after finishing runner-up last year. Dalton shows pigs as well. He was the Breed Champion Spot Barrow as a sophomore.
Baggs is also a standout in the classroom with a 3.5 GPA. After graduation he’ll continue to compete in shooting sports at Conners State, while majoring in Agriculture. After earning his associates, he plans to continue his education at Oklahoma State.
