Waynoka’s Maegan Holson – Northwest Tech Athlete of the Month
- Updated: January 15, 2020
Busy student and athlete Maegan Holson is a Junior at Waynoka High School all while also attending the Northwest Technology Center. Maegan is involved in softball, basketball, cheerleading, FCCLA, and a member of her high school’s STUCO to top it all off.
At the Northwest Technology Center Maegan is participating in their Biomedical program. Choosing this program was a no brainer for this science lover. “ I chose the biomed program because I have always been interested in science and I think that this program goes into more detail than a normal high school science class,” Maegan said. “In this program, I’m not being lead through class like I can work and figure things out on my own and I really like that.”
After high school Maegan would like to attend either UCO for one of their science programs or SWOSU for their pharmaceutical program.
As far as school and sports, Maegan has a great head on her shoulders when it comes to balancing the two. “I just make sure that I get everything school wise done before even thinking about sports,” Maegan said. This season Maegan said she is looking forward to “doing my best and having fun with my friends.” For her softball team she holds the position of right fielder, but her favorite part of playing softball is batting.
Maegan’s motivation to work hard and to become accomplished in school in sports comes from her family. “My sister is the one who motivates me because she was really good when she was in high school,” said Maegan.
