Enid’s Jessica Revels – Character Counts Presented by Curttright Honda

Varsity softball player Jessica Revels enters her tenth season of softball as Enid takes the field. Revels has played several positions over the years, but she has settled in at second base for Enid and head coach Danielle Smith.

“What I like about playing second base is how important the position is for the infield. I use to play basketball and soccer but I stopped to focus on softball,” said Revels.

Her teammates are like family and she loves how they come together to accomplish their collective goals.

“I just love how supportive the team and my teammates are. They help me get through the hard times and helped me stay positive and not get down on myself,” said Revels.

Revels not only plays fastpitch softball, she’s also involved in other activities at Enid High School.

“The only other club I’ve been in and still participating in is BHU,” said Revels. “To me academics is very important, sports isn’t everything it’s just one of the many things I put effort into. After I graduate I would like to get a major in archeology or phycology.”

The Lady Pacers have worked hard in the offseason and Revels expects the results to show up on the field.

“This year you can guarantee that we will be a new team one you haven’t seen before I can feel it,” said Revels.

Like many of her peers, Revels said her mother has been a big influence on her life and her support means everything.

“I have several influences on my life but the major one has to be my mom because she always supported me in everything I have ever done.”
