Okarche’s Adyson Arms – FFA Spotlight Presented by Oklahoma AgCredit

By Ryan Stone

The Okarche FFA Athlete Spotlight is on Adyson Arms, a sophomore softball player for the Lady Warriors. As a freshman she played in the outfield for fast pitch and slow pitch but is making a big move to shortstop this fall.

“The outfield has kind of always been my thing, I love the outfield. Shortstop is knowing every situation and that I have priority and just being ready on every play,” said Arms.

During Arms freshman season of fast pitch, she played defense only, but batted .305 during slow pitch. In the Okarche season opener this Fall Arms doubled and had a sacrifice bunt. Defensively she turned two double plays.

“This season my goals are continuing to improve at hitting,” said Arms, “I need a lot of work, but I know I can do it. I want to hit at least a double every game. As far as defense I want to improve at knowing what the situation is.”

Adyson also plays a crucial role in the FFA program at Okarche. As a freshman she helped lead the program for the first time to opening and closing ceremonies at the State ceremonies at Oklahoma State. Arms served as the President for the opening and closing ceremonies. While she loves FFA now it didn’t start out great for Arms.

“I actually had a friend just tell me to take the class. My first year wasn’t great, but as a freshman I took it again and Mr. Dean just really got me interested in the organization,” said Arms.

Adyson is also a standout in the classroom boasting a 4.0 GPA. She is involved in the Letterman’s Club and the Spanish Club. After high school Arms is considering going to the University of Florida for marine biology or the University of Oklahoma to become an orthodontist.
