CRESCENT TIGERS
Coach: J.L. FISHER
5-5
OFFENSE
The 2019 season will see a lot of underclassmen on the field for the Crescent Tigers. Coach J.L. Fisher is expecting several young players to fill key positions on both sides of the ball. “A lot of youth will be on the field,” Fisher said. “A lot of freshmen and sophomores will have to fill big roles. We graduated a lot of players who have gotten a ton of snaps the last couple of years.” The players returning to the team will give Fisher a solid nucleus to work with. Hunter Wilmoth (5-6, 130, Jr.) will play quarterback and possibly some wide receiver in the offense. Trent Fisher (6-2, 220, Sr.) is a big tight end who brings leadership to the huddle. Dominic Descher (5-10, 175, Sr.) is a durable running back who will split time with Tayon Johnson (5-9, 185, So.). Alec Stephens (5-10, 190, So.) gets the start on an offensive line that will need younger players to mature quickly.
DEFENSE
Trent Fisher moves to defensive end after leading the team in tackles a year ago. Fisher blossomed into a good player for Crescent and is the leader on defense. Wilmoth will lock up one of the corner spots, while Descher will start at linebacker. “Younger players will get a lot of snaps,” said coach Fisher. “If we can stay healthy in a very tough district, it should pay off down the road.” The coaching staff consists of David Walker, Matt Fisher and John Lovett.
