Coach Frank Howard returns nine starters in his flex-bone offense, including Bayler Hensley (6-0, 210, Sr.) on the line. Hensley is an outstanding upfront and an athletic interior lineman on the defensive side of the ball. Dawson Frazier (5-11, 180, Jr.) will quarterback the Bearcats again this season. Last year he saw limited action, but this season he looks to be the full-time starter. Landyn Crawford (5-11, 170, Sr.) starts at wide receiver, giving Frazier a dependable target in the passing game. Also look for John Meuer (5-10, 140, Sr.) and Theo Sutton (5-10, 160, Jr.) to impact the offense. John Sturgill (6-0, 180, Jr.) joins Hensley on the offensive line.

Keeton Bowers (6-0, 225, Jr.) is a hard-hitting linebacker the coaching staff is excited to see work this season. Lance Bolar (6-0, 180, Sr.) is another stat producer for the Bearcats at linebacker. Sturgill and Hensley will start on the defensive line while Crawford and Meuer will play in the secondary. An aggressive style of play for the Bearcats should create turnovers and control the line of scrimmage. “These kids have worked hard and go out to get better every day,” Howard said. “They have taken some lumps and are ready to take their season to the next level. If we do what we are supposed to, we can get one of those playoff spots.”
