OFFENSE
Coach Lamle comes back home to Medford after coaching stints at Shattuck and Garber, to name a few, to take over the Cardinal program. He is happy with the speed he inherited in his five returning offensive starters and will be utilizing that, running out of the option, spreading the field in multiple looks, using pro set, twins and flanker. The triggerman on offense will be quarterback Tate Schuermann (5-11, 155, Jr.). Running the ball will be tailback Drake McMillan (5-10, 185, Jr.) who ran for over 1,000 yards last season and tallied over 400 yards receiving. Up front doing the blocking on the line will be Austin Smith (6-2, 235, Sr.) and Kelton Benningfield (5-7, 175, Sr.). Benningfield may also be used in the backfield as well. Also on the line will be tight end Issac Koehn (5-8, 180, Jr.).
DEFENSE
Defensively, the Cardinals return four starters and will run a 3-2 base, looking to be aggressive, read keys and gang tackle. Up front will be Austin Smith with a group of linebackers including Schuermann, McMillan and Benningfield. Caden Keller (5-9, 150, So.) will be patrolling the defensive backfield and will be a valuable asset returning both kickoffs and punts.
