OFFENSE

After three great years in Waukomis, coach Koy Hughes is very excited to returning to his hometown of Garber. The Wolverines return some experienced players to the field and Hughes is expecting this team to make a huge leap. The competition in their district will be tough, but they are up for it. They will run a spread, up-tempo offense that moves the ball around to a variety of offensive weapons. At quarterback, T.J. Bennett (5-10, 160, Jr.) is a dual threat. Last year he passed for 13 touchdowns and 1,208 yards and also rushed for 352 yards and six touchdowns. Koda Oller (5-10, 185, Sr.) is one to watch both running and receiving the ball. Last year he racked up 239 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Look for Will Curl (6-4, 175, Sr.) to be a solid receiving target as he adds to his 310 yards and one touchdown from last season. Kaleb Darst (6-4, 200, Jr.) returns to his spot at tight end to surpass his 124 receiving yards from last fall. Gunner Sharp (6-4, 300, Jr.) and Dylan Hood (5-10, 265, Sr.) contribute on the O-line, with Hood possibly also playing behind the line.

DEFENSE

The Wolverines’ 3-2 attacking defense wants to put pressure on opposing offenses and create turnovers. Koda Oller is a key player on both sides of the ball. As a linebacker, he had 49 tackles (four for loss) and an interception last season. Joining him in the backfield are hard-working defensive backs Holt Nease (5-10, 175, Jr.) and Dawson Nagel (5-9, 170, Jr.). Last year these two accumulated a combined 69 tackles (four for loss), nine interceptions, one sack and one fumble recovery. Senior lineman Chris Chartier returns to his role on the defensive line, looking to top his 18 tackles (two for loss), one sack and one fumble recovery from last year.
