Senior Maddie Mason from Fairview, Oklahoma is the Fellowship of Christian Athletes  Student-Athlete of the Month. Maddie is active in her huddle at Fairview High School.  Huddle leader Linda Zimmerman calls Maddie, “a leader with a great heart that can always be counted on.” Maddie has grown up going to church and attending FCA in high school.

Maddie is the fourth of four girls in the Mason family.  All her sisters, Julia, Olivia and Sadie, have been two-sport high school All Staters and very competitive. So competitive that Maddie tells me they never play each other in sports…not even a game of one-on-one or horse. That competitiveness and never liking to lose has led Maddie to excel in school and at softball and basketball. Maddie has been selected as an All-Stater in softball (shortstop and pitcher) and looks to achieve that distinction in basketball this season. Fairview basketball coach, Mike Burton says Maddie, a three-year starter, has improved more from her freshman year to her senior year than any player he has coached.

Maddie tutors a third grader at Fairview Elementary School every day through a Service Learning program through the high school. She helps a young girl with reading and spelling and loves every minute of it.

Maddie is an excellent student taking two concurrent classes, physics and human physiology plus AP Calculus. She wants to attend UCO and major in biology and biological forensics.
